A new edutainment website
where users create, share and collaborate on drawings and animations.
It is a 13 plus website that provides free drawing and animation tools
through a browser. No software needs to be downloaded and DoInk works
on any computer. It is a safe environment for kids and creativity.
DoInk's tools simplify the difficult process of animation, and it
transforms the normal solitary process of creating art into an entertaining
social activity. DoInk's tools are unique in that they enable collaboration
between users, so that content can be shared and reused. Users
can reuse each other's art for their own story, or they can collaborate
on specific projects. DoInk is a place where kids can learn and be
creative, all inside a fun supportive and highly engage community.
We have seen great success with this program in diverse subjects.
Here is an example from an English class where the students were assigned
to make a fairy tale. So instead of acting it out, this student animated
her story: http://www.doink.com/clips/EXIT_LOCKED/244435.
We see Science projects animated, concepts such as distillation can
be very entertaining when animated. http://www.doink.com/clips/auzziephil77/34015.
We even have a Mandarin Chinese class work on projects on the site.
Obviously this website fits in perfectly for Computer Science and
Computer Graphics classes as well. This year we will also have Summer
animation camps run around the DoInk program. DoInk is just the perfect
medium for digital storytelling for any subject. |

Mag Projects |
MidLink Magazine
is the oldest childrens publication on the web. Established
in October, 1994, MidLink continues to be updated quarterly with projects
in locations all over the world. For ten years, it has operated without
interruption and continues to grow as a non-profit organization because

Welcome to the ePals Projects Page!
We hope you find a project that interests you. The topics are standards-based
and of global interest. Each project is designed to be used as is
or customized to your classrooms needs. An easy way to find
a classroom with which to partner is to check the Connect
with Classrooms forum on the project index page for posts
by interested classrooms. Alternatively, search the Connect
with Another Classroom search box on ePals home page.
Also search the Ongoing Projects and ePals Wanted
forums. Once finding a classroom with which to do the Project, we
recommend that the two teachers clarify some logistical issues before
you start.
